VISIT TO THE KYEKYERE A.M.E ZION BASIC SCHOOL (WESTERN REGION)
The donation and mentorship took place on the 26th of February,2021. Due to the pandemic, a delegation was selected from the current cohort of 2020 SEO alumni in the Western Region of Ghana. During the donation, we were also honored to have in our midst the Queen mother of the Kyekyere Town and the GES (Ghana Education Service) Circuit Supervisor. The headmaster thanked us immensely for deciding to give back to society. He made mention of how the school was struggling with getting furniture for their Computer Laboratory and how we helped to resolve the problems faced by the school. Some of the items donated include COVID-19 essentials; Nose masks, Tissues, SEO Branded COVID stickers, 6 long chairs,6 long tables. While observing COVID Protocols, we had an opportunity to educate the pupils on some safe COVID Practices which involved the frequent washing of the hands, keeping social distance and the wearing of the nose mask in an appropriate way.
VISIT TO DZORWULU SPECIAL SCHOOL (GREATER ACCRA REGION)
The donation took place on the 12th of March, 2021. Due to the pandemic, a delegation was selected from the current cohort of 2020 SEO alumni in Accra. The meeting started by introducing SEO Africa and the main reason for our visit. The headmaster thanked our interns immensely and made mention of how our donation would positively impact the school. Some of the items donated include COVID-19 essentials; Nose masks, Veronica buckets, Tissues, SEO Branded COVID stickers, Teaching essentials (Coloring books, beads, Cloth), Flour and oil. The delegatees had an opportunity to interact with the children, but this was restricted due to the pandemic. This was in the form of taking pictures and engaging in talks on how best to be safe during this pandemic.
