Alumni Advisory Board

SEO Africa’s alumni advisory board is made up of some of the top business people in Africa. Our board oversees the sustainability and expansion of our programme.

Sidumiso Sibanda – Managing Director, SEO Africa (SEO 2006)

Sidumiso is of Zimbabwean origin and grew up in several African countries.  She attended the University of Sheffield in the UK where she earned a dual Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry.  In the summer of 2006, Sidumiso obtained her internship at Deutsche Bank in London through SEO.  Upon graduation, she chose to work for HSBC within their FX and Money Markets team, before moving into M&A and Debt Advisory at the Rothschild Group and subsequently McQueen, a Consumer, Leisure and Retail specialist in London.  Sidumiso has worked closely with SEO London over the last few years, and moved to Ghana in January 2014 to lead SEO Africa.


Edgar Seah – Co-founder & Director, SEO Africa (SEO 2001)

Edgar was born and raised in Singapore.  He attended Carnegie Mellon University and obtained a Bachelors degree in Business and Economics.  In the summer of 2001, he obtained his internship at Merrill Lynch in New York through SEO.  Edgar worked full-time at Merrill Lynch for 7 years, his last role prior to building SEO Africa was as the Head of Mortgage Trading and Co-Head of Mortgage Origination for Bank of America-Merrill Lynch Asia.


Kwabena Amporful – Co-founder & Director, SEO Africa (SEO 2002)

Kwabena was born and raised in Ghana.  He attended Hampshire College in the US, and in 2002, obtained his internship at Merrill Lynch in New York through SEO.  He worked at Merrill Lynch for 3 years in the Equity Research Department, and then went to Stanford University for his MBA.  Following a stint in private equity in San Francisco, Kwabena returned to Ghana in 2009 to co-head the private equity division at Databank, where he raised a US$30 million investment fund. At the end of 2011, Kwabena left Databank to start Institute of Teacher Education and Development (INTED), an organization designed to provide professional development training to teachers across Ghana to lift the quality of education in the country.


Randolph Rodrigues – Head, Investment Banking, Stanbic Bank Ghana, Accra (SEO 2002)

Randolph Rodrigues was born in the UK and raised between Sierra Leone and Ghana.  He attended Cornell University, and in 2002, obtained his internship at Credit Suisse in New York through SEO.  He worked at Credit Suisse for 2 years in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group followed by 2.5 years at Microsoft in the Corporate Development Group.  He then went to Harvard University for his MBA after which he returned to Investment Banking in the Chicago Office of Morgan Stanley.  Randolph returned to Ghana in 2011 and is currently the Head of the Investment Banking Division at Stanbic Bank.


Taiwo Ajayi – Vice President, Africa Advisory Group (SEO 2004)

Taiwo Ajayi helped recruit and train the first class of SEO Africa interns before working with a team of like-minded African professionals to establish the Africa Advisory Group, an Africa-focused leadership advisory firm.  Taiwo began her career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she advised Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and non-profit organisations on strategic issues.  After leaving McKinsey, she pursued her combined interest in entrepreneurship and human capital development, serving as the founding Director of Program Development at Fullbridge, a venture-backed technology company in the USA, before relocating to West Africa.  Taiwo holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.  She is a Certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI) Practitioner and a trained professional coach.


Rosy Fynn – Marketing Director, Airtel Ghana, Accra (SEO 2002)

Rosy Fynn is the Marketing Director at Airtel Ghana.  Prior to joining Airtel, Rosy was the Marketing Director at Surfline Communications, before which she was the Head of Branding for Millicom Africa (Tigo), where she was responsible for managing Millicom’s brand activities across all their African operations.  Before joining Millicom’s regional team, Rosy was the head of Marketing for Millicom Ghana, where she was responsible for all of Tigo’s revenues and product lines.  Rosy joined Millicom from Booz & Company in New York, where she was an Associate in their Financial Services Group.  In this role, Rosy worked with global financial institutions to create strategies for improving operational efficiencies and reducing costs.  Before joining Booz & Company, Rosy worked at global financial institutions such as JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, in their Private Banking/Private Wealth divisions.  Rosy obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Smith College, and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.


John Gadzi – Head of Financial Advisory, IC Securities, Accra (SEO 1999)

John is responsible for IC Securities Corporate Finance business globally.  Before joining IC Securities in early 2012, John was a Vice-President in Investment Banking at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York focused on Industrial clients.  Prior to Goldman Sachs, John served as a Manager at Lucent Technologies, Inc., focusing on corporate strategy and mergers & acquisitions.

John began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst focused on the Banks and Financial Institutions Group at Salomon Smith Barney, Inc.  Mr. Gadzi holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration (Hons) Finance Major from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.


Chukuka Chukuma – Co-founder & Partner, Racecourse Capital, Lagos (SEO 1996)

Chukuka is a Co-founder and Partner at Racecourse Capital, an advisory and principal investment firm.  Prior to Racecourse, Chukuka was Head, Investment Banking Coverage for West Africa at Stanbic IBTC, Nigeria, where he originated investment banking business as well as more complex global market products.  Prior to that, he was Head of Debt Solutions also at Stanbic IBTC, where he set up Property, Structured Trade, Acquisition & Leverage and Project Finance businesses.

Prior to joining Stanbic, Chukuka worked with a number of different investment banks including Afrinvest, Citibank, Salomon Smith Barney, J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs.  Chukuka graduated from Baruch College in New York with a B.B.A. in Finance.
